Stephanie Munro Courtney is an attorney dedicated to public service, human rights advocacy, and supporting those who serve their country. At Courtney Military Law Group, she is committed to advancing the firm’s mission of restoring honor, protecting reputations, and helping service members and veterans navigate complex legal challenges.
Stephanie earned her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (now UC Law San Francisco), where she focused on international law and human rights. Her legal training emphasized the protection of individual rights, the rule of law, and the importance of careful advocacy for those facing difficult circumstances.
During her career, Stephanie has worked with organizations addressing humanitarian crises and global justice issues. She previously conducted field research with the Public International Law & Policy Group, where she interviewed Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh and helped document evidence of human rights violations. This work reinforced her belief that every person deserves to have their story heard and treated with dignity.
In addition to her legal background, Stephanie has extensive experience supporting nonprofit organizations and philanthropic initiatives focused on global health, women’s empowerment, and community-led development. Her work has helped strengthen partnerships and expand programs that provide lifesaving services to vulnerable communities around the world.
Stephanie’s connection to the military community is deeply personal. She is married to a United States Marine Corps veteran and has seen firsthand the sacrifices made by service members and their families. Through that experience, she has developed a profound respect for those who wear the uniform and a strong appreciation for the challenges military families often face during and after service.
At Courtney Military Law Group, Stephanie brings a compassionate and thoughtful approach to her work. She believes that every service member deserves to be treated with fairness, dignity, and respect, and she is proud to support a firm dedicated to protecting the rights and futures of those who have served our nation.
