Kevin Courtney initially assisted me when interviewing with NCIS when I was brought into discuss sexual assault allegation against another Marine. I wanted to make sure I didn’t get my phone taken and was also concerned about incriminating myself for adultery or drug use. He later assisted me when said Marine accused me of sexual assault and filed for a restraining order against me. His preparation for and appearance in court was impeccable and minimized the stress I experienced when dealing with both the Marine Corps and Civilian legal processes. Mr. Courtney was always professional and his communication was excellent. He was understanding of my circumstances and how it affected my mental health and his empathetic approach and dilligence allowed me to minimize the impact the case had on me. He is knowledgeable about both the UCMJ and California legal code. In the end he got the restraining order dismissed and on the military side all I received was a negative counseling for adultery as collateral misconduct.
