Experienced Military Attorney

Southern California military lawyer Kevin Courtney

Kevin Courtney knows what it takes to take on the US Government, both on behalf of his clients and in his personal life. As a Southern California based military defense attorney, Kevin Courtney provides legal advice and effective representation to service members facing general and special courts-martial, boards of inquiry, administrative separations, non-judicial punishment, invasive investigations, and military boards of corrections. It does not matter if Kevin Courtney’s clients are facing federal felony-level allegations at a criminal trial or minor misconduct at an employment hearing, he uses his depth of experience to advocate for his client’s best interests.

In his personal life, Kevin Courtney is known for fighting the Department of Veterans Affairs for unlawfully denying his family death benefits for his father’s service connected death caused by the contaminated water at Camp Lejeune. Kevin Courtney was raised in Oceanside and Temecula, and is the son of a proud Marine Infantry Officer.

Kevin Courtney went to law school because he wanted to help his family and ultimately advocate for veterans and service members fighting their own plight. After accepting an offer to attend UC Law San Francisco (formerly known as UC Hastings, College of the Law), Kevin Courtney attended Officer Candidates School where he commissioned as a Marine Corps Officer in August 2016.

Today, Kevin Courtney is married to his beautiful wife, Stephanie.  They enjoy spending time supporting the Red Bull Formula One team, the Golden State Warriors, and hanging outside by a fire pit with friends enjoying a glass of wine or a homemade craft cocktail.
